Wind & Warrior

From Spirit to Practice and Beyond

Dear Family,

The aim of our work and our play is to nurture— in ourselves and each other— the application of indigenous knowledge and healing modalities within movements for transformative justice, in order to strengthen our capacity for radical love-based innovation in our organizing practices.

Who We Are: The Wind & The Warrior Founders

We cannot speak on who we are without acknowledging the call of the Ancestors, Abosum, Orisha and Spirit Guides for such a coming together in this particular moment in history. As activists and as initiates of indigenous spiritual systems, we asked ourselves what, in addition to our current work as community organizers, can we offer to the larger fight for systemic change?

The Wind & The Warrior was founded by Ife Afriye Kilimanjaro, Karma Mayet, Nana Korantema Pierce Williams, and Nana Fofie Amina Bashir, a group of four sisters who responded to an inner Call in 2015 to organize The Wind & The Warrior, while a larger circle of Spiritualists and Activists provide consultation on a variety of issues.
